Music Director - Pianist/Cellist

As a music director, Eric is very influenced by his own experience as a singer and actor, always justifying his decisions through the acting and story first, whether working with a solo vocalist or full ensemble. He brings a collaborative spirit to the room and leads with purpose, clear direction, and empathy. He has a passion and skill for conducting/leading an ensemble from the keyboard or the cello chair.

With a particularly strong skill for sight-reading, Eric is a classically trained pianist and cellist brought up on equal parts classical music and classic rock. Just as comfortable playing a lyrical melody as letting it rip in imitation of a rock guitar, some of his first performances growing up were covers of 2CELLOS arrangements of Smooth Criminal and Welcome to the Jungle. He is a seasoned audition accompanist with a knack for musicality and fluidity on a first sight read. Most recently he worked as the pianist for a workshop of the new musical Sinister at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
